Project Compassion
A huge thank you for your participation in Project Compassion 2021. Your kind and generous support for our fundraising efforts this Lent has helped us raise over $2000 to help support the world's poor. Thank you to the icy cup helpers for the generosity of your time and assistance. It has been greatly appreciated.
Thank you to Mr and Mrs Bennett and the Year 6 buskers who provided a joyful start to our Wednesday mornings during Lent. Thank you to Stella's Little Store for being willing to donate your profits to Project Compassion. Unfortunately, Stella's Little Store was unable to sell her products due to the Covid restrictions, however, we hope Stella will be able to hold her stall later in the year.

Year 5 Litpro Readers: This year our Year 5 students are participating in an online reading program. The children read books from the library at their reading level and complete a quiz about the book. They have to read approximately 30 books to win a free book from Book Club. Sienna Pietrobon, Audrey Burbidge and Daniel O'Brien are our first certificate winners. Congratulations!
Holiday Reading: I have allowed children to borrow extra books this holiday BUT if they run out here is another option. We have a big range of wonderful ebooks children can have access to from home especially if you are reading chapter books.
Accessing Ebooks from Home: On the student intranet there is a drop-down menu called library links. On Destiny search there is a link to sora ebooks. You can read from here or you can Download the App SORA to any devise.
Here are the instructions for logging in.
Click Find my school. Our school is not on the first list so click Can’t find my school.
In the box a drop-down, menu appears select ACEN Member collection.
Next sign in using ACEN member collection.
Click continue and a CEnet log on box will appear. Students then can use their normal computer login. Make sure you select Townsville Diocese. Enjoy.
Junior librarian in the spotlight: Elli Torrisi has started a lunch time storytelling group. For any students who wish to sit around and chat, join us on a Wednesday during Term 2. We have many interesting topics.
