Principal's News
Dear Parents and Carers
It has been a busy start to the term with many significant events taking place in the first few weeks. Year 5 Camp, NAIDOC week celebrations, and this week we celebrated Catholic Education Week. As part of Catholic Education Week schools are asked to nominate a member of staff for the Spirit of Catholic Education Award. This award recognises outstanding service, committment and achievement in exemplifiying Catholic Education. This year, our nominee for this award was Tanya Scherff. Tanya currently fufills the role of Finance Administration for our school (along with many other things). Tanya has worked as a school officer across 4 schools in the Townsville diocese prior to taking up her current position. She is a very worthy recipient of this award and I am sure you will join with me in congratulating her on her achievements.
Additional Pupil Free Day
Townsville Catholic Education has informed schools that an additional Pupil Free Day will be scheduled on Tuesday the 7th of October, the first day back for Term 4. As Monday the 6th is a public holiday, the first day of school for Term 4 will be Wednesday the 8th of October. All staff will be engaged in professional learning on this day.
Year 6 Camp
Next week our Yr 6's are heading off on camp. They will be heading to Wambiana Station near Charters Towers. This is always an amazing experience and I am sure it will be again. We wish them all the best for their adventure.
Have a great week.
